VNA Pallet Racking is short for Very Narrow Aisle Pallet Racking System, which is one type of pallet racking system with high-density storage efficiency, around 60 percent.
Normal pallet racking system cooperates with normal forklift. Usually the turning radius for normal pallet racking system is around 3300mm, While the turning radius of special forklift working with VNA Pallet Racking System is around 1100-1800mm. The width of aisle between two close lines of pallet racks depends on the radius of forklift’s turning radius. The less width of aisle is, the more the storage efficiency will be.
The main parts of VNA Pallet Racking system are same with main parts of normal pallet racking system, only the layout is different. The main parts are uprights, diagonal bracers, horizontal bracers, beams and cross beams. Since the aisle is narrow, it will be more dangerous than in normal pallet racking system to drive forklift, upright protects and frame protects are essential for VNA pallet racking system. Also when aisle is narrow, it will be harder for forklift operator to put pallet on beam, so cross beams on beams to prevent pallet from dropping are also necessary.
Another type of pallet racking with high-density is drive-in racking system. Compared with VNA pallet racking system, drive-in racking system have higher density, but VNA pallet racking system is steadier than drive-in pallet racking system. Forklift working for VNA pallet racking system is much more expensive than one for drive-in pallet racking system. After all drive-in pallet racking system is more economic while VNA Pallet Racking system is stronger than drive-in pallet racking system. If the load weight is more than 2000kg per pallet, we suggest to apply VNA pallet racking system.
