Standard optional components for heavy duty pallet racking

Heavy duty pallet racking consists of upright frames and beams. Besides these two crucial components, we can also select accessories to meet different storage requirements. The most common is row spacers. Back to back racking typically uses row spacers to connect the two uprights. The most common sizes are 200mm, 250mm, and 300mm in length. The use of row spacers makes the overall pallet racking structure more stable.

Secondly, there is the support bar. There are several types of support bar, including “一”type support bar, “工” type support bar, and “井” type support bar. For overseas customers, we usually recommend “一” type support bar because this type of support bar does not take up much space and is relatively cheaper to manufacture.

Next are the protective devices for heavy duty racks, which come in two types: post protector and frame protector. Generally, the number of post protector is the same as the number of uprights. Post protector are typically 300mm high and 3.0mm thick, mainly protecting the outer uprights to prevent accidental damage during forklift operation. Frame protector are usually longer, and their height is determined by the rack height, typically around 500mm. For single row racks, the guardrail length is the same as the rack depth, usually with two legs. For back to back racks, the guardrail length is the depth of two racks plus the distance between them, usually with three legs. The use of frame protectors can effectively protect the frames.

Back bracing is sometimes used, for example, when the pallet racking is single row and relatively tall, it can be used to increase the stability of the racking. It can also be used when the racking has only one layer, making the overall structure more stable. Of course, for standard pallet racking, back bracing is not necessary.
