Pallet Racking Beams

Heavy duty pallet racking is one of our flagship products, and the beams are also an essential component of heavy duty pallet racking. Today, we will briefly describe the types and specifications of beams.

Firstly, there are heavy duty racking system, which are also one of our company’s best-selling products. The beams of heavy duty racking are generally categorized into three types. The most common is the Box beam. This is also the type of beam we often choose for our clients. The load-bearing capacity of this type of beam is relatively good, and it deforms very little. It is composed of two C-shaped components that are welded together, which is why we call it a Box beam. Common specifications for box beams include 100*50*1.5, 120*50* 1.5, and 140*50*1.5. Occasionally, clients require heavier load-bearing capacities, such as 160*50*1.5 or even 180*50*1.5.

For another type of box beam, which we call a T-shaped box beam, it is formed by machine bending. This type of box beam features a double-C shape on one side, similar to regular box beams, while the other side is single-sided. The advantage of this type of beam is that it tends to be slightly cheaper. It can be used for racking with relatively low load requirements or for lighter-weight rack on a single level, thereby helping to save customers’ warehouse costs to some extent.

The third type is the rectangular tube beam. While rectangular tube beams are relatively less commonly used in heavy duty racking systems, they are sometimes employed. They are suitable for lighter load capacities and when customers need to equip their racking with wire decking. We choose rectangular tube beams for our clients. It’s quite straightforward: two ends of the rectangular tube are welded with corresponding column claws, which can be used in conjunction with upright columns.
