Last time, we briefly introduced the packaging of heavy duty pallet beams. Today, we’ll continue by discussing the packaging of another essential component of heavy duty pallet rack – the uprights. Common heavy duty uprights come in 80*60mm, 90*70mm, and 100*70mm sizes. These three are the most common and can almost meet the typical load bearing needs of customers.
Of course, sometimes customers have special requirements, such as taller columns or more layers, which necessitates larger columns, which we can also provide. Columns typically don’t take up much space but are quite heavy, so they are usually packed relatively low, typically around 500-550mm including pallet legs. The number of columns per package is usually between 100pcs to 120pcs, depending on the specific order. Of course, if choose a larger size column, the quantity in one package will be less. Since columns are generally quite long, unlike the two pallet legs of the crossbeams, several more pallet legs are usually placed under each column package, the number of which is usually determined by the column’s height.
To prevent deformation during transportation, we usually wrap both ends of the uprights with cardboard for better product protection. If the uprights are long, we also add cardboard in the middle during packing to prevent damage. Then, we tightly wrap the cardboard and uprights with stretch film. Finally, we use steel straps to tie the pallet legs and uprights together; typically, the number of steel straps corresponds to the number of pallet legs. Of course, we also pad the areas where the steel straps are tied to prevent friction between the straps and the uprights.
Good packaging can significantly enhance the product’s effectiveness. As a professional racking manufacturer, we strive to provide our customers with excellent products and services. Please contact us if you have any pallet rack needs.
