Heavy Duty Shelf Rack

In addition to the most common heavy duty pallet racks, heavy duty racks also include heavy duty shelf racks. Compared to pallet racks, shelf racks have additional shelves, allowing customers to place goods directly on the shelves without the need for pallets.  This type of rack is also very common and is one of our popular products.

Heavy duty shelf racks typically can carry 1 ton per layer. They often come in two styles: powder coated,customer can select the color, and galvanized. For a 1 ton load, 1.0mm thick steel shelves are typically used. If powder coated steel shelves are used, a rack length of approximately 2 meters can be divided into two shelves per layer. If the rack length is approximately 2.7 meters, one level can typically be divided into three shelves. Reinforcement ribs are welded to the bottom of the shelves to meet the customer’s load requirements.

If galvanized shelves are selected, the number of shelves on each layer is designed according to the length of the rack. There is a slight difference between galvanized shelves and powder coated steel shelves. In addition to the different surface treatments, galvanized shelves are usually made into small pieces with a width of 200-300mm and a length that is the width of the rack.

Of course, in addition to the standard one ton loading shelf, customers sometimes require heavier load shelf racks, such as 1.5 tons or 2 tons per level. We can also accommodate these heavy duty shelf racks, and customers can choose powder coates type or galvanized shelves. Generally, galvanized steel shelves are cheaper than powder coated steel shelves. It all depends on customer preference and the intended use. Heavier shelf loads require thicker materials, such as 1.5mm, 1.8mm, or 2.0mm, custom-made to suit different shelf sizes.
