Container Loading For Pallet Rack Beam and Upright

Last month, one of our old customer ordered some standard heavy duty pallet racking. The racks are 2700mm long and 4500mm high, with a 2 ton capacity per level – very common specifications. We completed production and packaging according to the customer’s requirements, and loading began this week.

These heavy duty pallet racks total need 4*40HC. The items that need to be loaded into the container are very common, namely uprights, beams, horizontal and diagonal braces, and some rack installation accessories.

Today, we’ll briefly discuss the packaging of beams and columns. Let’s start with beams. Common sizes are 100*50*1.5 or 120*50*1.5. If packed in a high 40HC container, a package typically contains 108pcs beams, while if packed in a 20GP container, a package typically contains 96pcs beams. This is based on our years of production and packaging experience. They’re typically pallet packed and strapped with steel strapping for easy forklift access. It is convenient to load and unload goods from the container.

Next, let’s talk about uprights. The most common upright sizes are 80*60*2.0 and 90*70*2.0. We also offer heavier load uprights, such as 100*70 or 120mm. Today, we’re focusing on standard 80mm and 90mm upright packaging. Uprights typically take up little space but are quite heavy. Therefore, packaging is relatively short, typically 500-550mm high and containing approximately 100pcs uprights.

Like the uprights, horizontal and diagonal braces are also relatively heavy, but they don’t take up much volume. Palletized racks typically contain around 880pcs braces. So, in general, when loading heavy duty beam racks, they’re heavier and less bulky, so weight is generally the only consideration. Of course, this applies only to heavy duty beam racks, which don’t include steel shelves.
